How much helps?

  • Whatever you can offer
  • £1.50 finances one copy of a textbook (used by at least 6 students)
  • £1,000 could help 4,000 students
  • £3,000 - £5,000 finances an average print run (subjects & book sizes vary greatly)

What helps most?

  • Rolling donations (e.g. £1,000 or more for each of three years) keep a successful title in print
  • General donations to our work are simpler than tied funds as:
    • Funds for specific subjects make accounting complicated and may prevent the reprint of successful titles
    • Funds for specific textbooks are hardest to use as as publishers' plans for new editions and reprints change
    • Funds for restricted geographical areas complicate distribution and reduced print runs are less cost-effective
    • Donations which allow 15% for administration means we can staff our work!
  • Becoming a Friend of BookPower for only £50 a year
